Blacknoise is one of those companies that invests resources into a single area and develops products accordingly. They have been around for a while now making fans for retail and industry use alike, with the Noiseblocker range being the most popular of the lot. When I had given serious thought to doing a quad size (480 and 560mm) radiator roundup last year, I had approached Blacknoise about getting some more information about their retail fans and the possibility of a discount on a large order. One thing led to another and soon 48 NB fans were at my doorstep at no cost, all the way from Germany. They came in extremely handy with all my radiator reviews done so far (with more coming in soon), and it is only fair that I now test out these fans as well. Thanks to Blacknoise, let’s begin with the eLoop B12-1.
Let’s take a look at the specs courtesy the product page:
The product page is in fact shared by the entire eLoop 120mm series, and there is another data sheet (in German, but the units help understand the context easily) that provides more information, notably the P-Q curve for each fan and the operating temperature (-10 to +60 ºC for those who were wondering). We see a good 6 year warranty as a result of proprietary technology being implemented here giving a long MTBF of 160,000 hours (at 25 ºC). As we wrap up this section, we also see the list of the eLoop fans telling us that Blacknoise has something for most people in both 3 pin and PWM flavors. Let’s now take a good look at the B12-1 on the next page.
