Be quiet! Ok, now that that’s behind us, let’s get to a more serious business. The company “be quiet!” has been around for about 7 years now maintaining a silent profile (get it? Ok, I lied about the more serious part!)) outside of its home base in Germany. In the past 2-3 years however, they have brought out some incredible looking products which seem to also do a good job functionally. While I have not yet had the pleasure of checking out their PSUs, case or coolers, I do now have the opportunity to check out their premium 120mm fan- the Silent Wings 2. Thanks a lot to Hank from Performance PCs for providing the test sample.
Let’s take a look at the specs courtesy the product page:
Well that’s certainly a lot of information there. So far be quiet! is striking all the right chords in my books. Being detailed and rigorous here, we get to know that the fan is also available in a 3 pin voltage control variant, and also that there are 140mm sized versions as well. We also know the dimensions and weight of not just the fan but also the package the fan ships in. The fan has a fluid dynamic bearing which is good to see and brings with it an MTBF of >300, 000 hours, and we also find out that the max current draw is rated at 0.2 A which corresponds to 2.4 W on a 12 V rail. Let’s now take a look at the fan on the next page.
